No
one saw any lights
when I was born.
No
comet pierced through the heavens.
No
angels consoled my mother
during her painful throes.
No
wise men came bearing gifts.
No
mysterious passers-by took out my heart
and washed it in thawed out ice. Nothing. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened
when I was born.
Mine
indeed was a normal birth.
A very normal birth.
And
so will, I hope, my death be.
For the world
has had enough
with all that is holy
and miraculous.
