The Whore With The Trillion Vulvas

Introduction

Although this was not necessarily the intention at the beginning, but The Whore is most
probably my most ambitious literary work to date. It is definitely my longest and most intense. "Daring exploratory journeys through the labyrinthine maze of a corrupt political culture and complex sexual behavior, as a friend of mine put it, combine with overt expressions of religious and perhaps even cultural heresy in a manner not seen in my previous work." My usual multilayered narrative style, once again in the words of my friend, is taken to new levels, and the storyline is as blurred and unpredictable as never before.

As usual, and despite its length, the novel was written over a relatively short period, four months to be specific, beginning in November 1999 and ending in February 2000. It was indeed meant to chronicle that very period, which I felt would be the last year of President Hafiz al-Assad life. True to form, President Assad died on June 10, 2000.

Rather than publish it whole as was the custom with my previous works, The Whore, with its twelve chapters, will be published one section at a time on  a weekly basis, just for novelty's sake. Or, perhaps, I just wanted to give myself an additional reason to visit and update the site more regularly.

So, here it is, and without any further ado, my most ambitious literary endeavor to date.
